PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING

scroll

Howdy!

I am a senior at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor pursuing a degree in public relations bachelor of arts with a marketing minor. I immediately fell in love with mass communications once I learned all it allows one to do. I have always loved creating but never had the skill of drawing. When I realized I could use my creative gifts in public relations, I knew this was exactly what I wanted to pursue. I strongly love content creation, event planning, and working with people to bring someone's dream to life. I am relational on all levels and desire to reach people through social media and events. I have a love for creating and a desire to give 110% to every project I touch. I have experience in the fields of marketing, communications, and events.

" Avery really hit the ground running in her internship with Rapoport! Her first day of work we were having a big district-wide event and she supported communications efforts by taking photos and videos, running our Instagram stories and pitching in and helping wherever was needed. She was such a HUGE help that first day and then every day after that! I asked what she wanted to focus her internship on most and she said social media management, so the bulk of her projects were focused on that. She did an amazing job creating graphics in Canva, doing social write-ups, and scheduling them to go out on the appropriate channels. She required minimal supervision and really helped increase our engagement by getting some of my long wished for ideas off the ground-- Throwback Thursday posts with old yearbook photos and Game Day graphics for sports. Her attention to detail and thoughtful questions helped us go above and beyond my expectations in social media. I would absolutely hire her if I could! "

Asbury Church

" Avery is a joy to have as part of our team and would make an inspiring, uplifting addition to any work environment. Her interpersonal skills help people feel at ease and valued. She is eager to learn, share personal insight, and is receptive to feedback. Avery’s internship at Asbury provided the opportunity for her to be exposed to multiple facets of communications at a large church, and after receiving training on our processes and approaches, she was able to step into creating our social media schedule and content, strengthen her skills in recording video announcements, and gain a first-hand understandingof how communications and guest services functions hand in hand in helping people engage in life at Asbury. She was a great fit for serving on our Sunday morning Guest Services team at the welcome desk to help connect with people who wanted to learn more about Asbury. We highly recommend that interns cultivate a solid foundation of the Adobe Creative Suite as industry standard as they consider future job opportunities, and Avery was eager to receive training and experience with Photoshop during her time with us. While we were not initially aware of the timeframe of her internship requirements, she was able to work with her supervisor to figure out a solution. Her desire to support the team well in a busy season has been a gift. "

" Avery jumped right into our team and right into my brain. She listened and helped execute all the ideas I brought to her. She not only did what I asked, she got creative and started thinking of ideas herself and then executing them. Avery has such a positive attitude and makes people smile, she is a great team player and works well with others. Any business would be lucky to have such a positive and hardworking person like Avery on their PR team! "
